I have to tell you that I am very happy today is Friday! Yesterday was a VERY long day. It was a teacher workshop/no school day and let's just say it wasn't the most fun day I've had in a while! I was thrilled to have both kids home, but for some reason they just couldn't get out of each others way or get along at ALL! So, we are back to normal today and hopefully will have a better day. Plus, what's not to love about the weekend starting in a few hours!
Today I have two cards to share with you. First is for Just Magnolia. This week we would like to see you use some hearts and flowers with your Magnolia image to create a project for the challenge. I hope you will join in with us!
I've gone with a soft pastel color palette on this card. I took all my inspiration from these gorgeous cherry blossom flowers, which Bev was sweet enough to share. Now I will be buying myself some! You can get them at Wild Orchid Crafts which also happens to be the sponsor for the JM challenge this week! My papers are BaiscGrey Lily Kate and some card stock in yellow and blue. The sketch is from the challenge at Roses on Paper, although I altered the circle to a rectangle to fit my image.
I've embellished this card with distressed edges, flowers and roses, lace and ribbon, stickles and a heart charm. My image also has some hearts to fit in with our challenge. This card also fits the challenges at:
A Spoon Full of Sugar: Free Style
My Time to Craft: Elegant Rose
Cute Daisy May: Vintage
Cute Card Thursday: Blooming Gorgeous
Next I have my Stamp Something card. This week our challenge was set by out DT member Vicki and she wants to see you use your food images and embellies or papers to create a delightfully delicious something. Unfortunately, Vicki is having some major computer problems so she hasn't been able to post her card! I hope that things will get better for her soon!
For my card, I started with Francesca from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I think she fits the delicious challenge perfectly with those yummy cupcakes! I also used some DCWV Sweet paper with cupcakes on it. The layout is from ICS #51.
I embellished with flowers and roses and some corner punched paper, ribbon, and a charm. I also fit this card to the challenge of "a bow with polka dots and pink" at The Pink Elephant.
Thanks for dropping on by today. Please stop by Just Magnolia and Stamp Something and check out the challenge samples from my fellow designers, great inspiration to be had there! Hope you have a great weekend! Happy stamping!

Wow, Thursday already, time flies when you're having fun! Today I have a little something different to share with you. Over the last few weeks, I've had several people comment about my acetate snowflake embellishments, some even ask where I get them...the secret is you make them yourself! So I thought I would share a quick tutorial with you. And what's better, they are super easy to make and they look really pretty!
Please don't mind the poor quality photos...it's really hard to photograph acetate! And the lighting in the winter gloom knows as January is really not the best!
OK so first you will need the following supplies:
- A Cuttlebug or Big Shot or some other kind of die cutting machine
- Snowflake dies or if you have a snowflake punch, that will work great too and you won't need to drag out your die cutting machine
- A piece of acetate (I use transparency sheets from the office supply store), cut to small workable squares
- Glue which dries clear, I used SU! Crystal Effects
- Glitters (I use a few types - super fine, chunky, and multicolored)
- Glimmer mist (optional)
Set up your die cutting machine. Add a piece of acetate over a snowflake die, I used Sizzlet dies from SU!, and then roll through your machine. Make as many as you need. If you have a snowflake punch, then all you need to do is punch out a bunch of acetate snowflakes and skip using the Big Shot.
Sometimes the snowflake remains attached to the acetate sheet and you just need to manually pull it apart from the acetate sheet. Be careful not to rip the snowflake though. (below is a photo of one punched out snowflake)
Once you have your snowflakes punched out of your acetate piece, lay it (or them) on a piece of scrap paper and apply the glue to the whole snowflake.
Once the glue has been applied, cover it in different types of glitter. I start with the biggest or chunkiest ones first and then add the finer ones.
When you are happy with the coating over the snowflake, gently and carefully lift it out of the pile of glitter and set aside on a surface that you can easily move it around on. I often use another piece of acetate and lift it up every few minutes to insure that it's not sticking to the surface.
You will want to make sure it doesn't stick to the place where you set it for it's final drying spot or you will be sad, trust me! And don't put it on black paper...or you will have little black fuzzies all over the backing of the snowflake if it does stick.
Now, do the hardest part of the tutorial....wait for them to dry! LOL!
When they are close to dry you can give them a spritz of glimmer mist and allow to dry further. This is optional and not necessary if you use enough glitter.
When they are fully dry and ready to use, you can attach them to your project with glue or I sometimes use a rhinestone brad in the center and punch it threw my card so that I know it's good and attached, plus it looks nice.
Hope you will give these acetate snowflakes a try! They really are sparkly and pretty accents on a card! Thanks for dropping by today, have a great afternoon! And if you do try making these, let me know as I would love to see what you create with them!
Happy stamping...or in this case gluing and glittering up your workspace! :)

Can you believe the week is already half over! I had planned to stamp all afternoon yesterday, but unfortunately that didn't happen, maybe today! Hope you're having a nice week!
I created this simple card, well for me it's simple. I tried to do the Kraftin' Kimmie challenge which was no embellishments, yeah right! Let's face it, I can not do that! So this is what I came up with instead...
I used Charlotte and colored her with Copics and gave her some highlights with a gel pen. Then I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday and some BG Euphoria papers. I really think these papers are great with these fun Kraftin' Kimmie images. I've embellished with pearls, ribbon, and some flowers.
This card also fits the challenges at:
Creative Card Crew and Simon Says Stamp: Punch It
Thanks for dropping by today, hope you have a fabulous day! Happy stamping! :)

Hope you're having a good week so far. We got a LOT of rain yesterday so it was a nice day to stay inside and stamp! Which I was actually able to do! I've been so busy lately that I've been neglecting my crafty goodies! It was nice to get inky, even if it was only for a short time.
Yesterday, we posted a new challenge on our Whimsy SNR group to use hearts and a Whimsy image on your creation. So I started with that challenge and then added a couple more.
This is my card using the new stamp Ready, Set, Duck! by Crissy Armstrong now available at Whimsy Stamps. I think she's super cute and makes a perfect "be my valentine card" because well, if you say no, she might throw that snowball at you! LOL!
I've used some DCWV papers with a valentine theme. There are hearts and lots of pink on these papers. I also used some Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, and Rose Red card stock from SU!. This sketch is from Sketch and Stash and my neglected stash would be this fab ruffly ribbon. I've embellished with sticky pearls, flowers, and a metal heart. I also added white gel pen faux stitching and some stickles to the snowballs.
This card also fits the challenges at:
One Stop Craft: Love and Kisses
Pile It On!: Warm Wishes
Thanks for coming on by today. There is still time to enter the Whimsy Snowball Fight blog hop candy! Lots of great eye candy to see along the way too! Be sure to join in our Whimsy hearts challenge too! Happy stamping!
Sunday, January 24, 2010
Today at Whimsy Stamps we are releasing three new stamps from a brand new collection by Crissy Armstrong called the Snickerdoodle Kids Collection! These new stamps are fun, cute, and perfectly Whimsy! I just love them!
The Whimsy Stamps design team has created some eye candy to share with you today on our "Snowball Fight!" blog hop! The hop will run from today until Saturday, January 30th at noon EST.
Today's hop began at Deb's blog, so if you are just stumbling on our hop now, you'll want to go back to Deb's and start from the beginning. If you're joining me from Crystal's blog then you are in the right place. If you take the full hop and leave comments for our designers you can then stop by the Whimsy site and leave a link in Mr. Linky for our GRAND prize of a $50 gift certificate to our online shop!
We will draw one winner at random on Sunday, January 31st and that's not all...we will also choose 3 random winners from comments left on our DT blogs to each receive one of the new Snickerdoodle Kids stamps! And if you stop in our Whimsy SNR group, we'll have some fun games to play with prizes to win!
Now on to my card, I've used the new stamp "Janice and Marty's Snow Day" and have colored with Copics and added lots of glitter for snow and some flocking to Janice's coat for added fluff!
The papers are My Minds Eye with SU! card stock in Pink Pirouette and Baja Breeze. I love these My Minds Eye papers because they're all covered in glitter and sparkle! I've embellished this card with ribbon and a felt snowflake with an acetate and glitter snowflake and one rhinestone brad. I'll do a post later this week on how to make the acetate and glitter snowflakes...it's very easy and fun too! Plus they make for a sparkly winter accent! The last accent was a sprinkle of glitter over the image to make it look like it was snowing...of course that was only for the photo. I had to clean it up after...too bad glitter doesn't just stick where you want it!
Thanks for dropping by my blog today....now I'm throwing my snowball at Ann's blog, so you'll want to hop there next and see if I hit her! And if you get lost along the way, you can stop back at the Whimsy home page for a list of links.
And, one last thing before you get to hopping...yesterday we released the limited edition digital stamp, "Wings of Hope" created by Crissy Armstrong with all proceeds of the sales (minus and PayPal fees) to benefit the American Red Cross disaster relief for Haiti.
I just have to say how overwhelmed with joy I am at the amazing amount of money we have raised so far for this cause and I just want to say thank you to ALL those crafters out there who stopped what they were doing and went to our site to purchase the image! Thank you for your kindness and generosity, you have helped us to raise over $500 in only one day! I can't wait to see what we can raise in a month! WOW!

The blog candy draw has now closed and I've chosen the winner using random.org....
Here are your random numbers:
Timestamp: 2010-01-24 04:29:18 UTC
That would be Mindy Baxter! Congratulation Mindy! Please contact me with your mailing info and I will get that out to you on Monday.
Thanks everyone! I do hope you will all join me tomorrow for a new release celebration at Whimsy Stamps...there will be fun, inspiration, and more prize chances! See you then!
Happy weekend! I hope that last week was a good one for you. I was busy gearing up for our latest Whimsy Stamps release, which will take place tomorrow at noon EST with a blog hop snowball fight!
Today though, I have a special announcement! Crissy Armstrong has created a beautiful limited edition digital stamp carousel horse called "Wings of Hope" which is currently available exclusively in the Whimsy Stamps online shop. This digital stamp will be available to purchase from now until February 28th, 2010. All proceeds from the sale of this image, minus any PayPal fees, will be sent to the American Red Cross disaster relief for Haiti.
We will be keeping a weekly tally on the Whimsy site for readers to see just how much money we have raised and at the end of February, we will send all monies collected to the American Red Cross fund. If you would like to help out, please visit the Whimsy Stamps shop and purchase this digital stamp!
I've created my card with BasicGrey Origins papers and soft yellow and chocolate card stocks. The image was printed out and colored with Copics. I added some stickles to the wings for some shimmer. I kept the card simple so that the image was the focal point, but I did embellish with some flowers, roses, metal hardware, and a charm which says hope.
Thanks for dropping by today! I hope you have a great weekend and that you will join us in our efforts to help the people of Haiti. If you are unable to make a donation but would still like to help, please post a message on your blog with links to our site to spread the word! You can even grab the badge on my sidebar to add to your blog. Thanks so much!
More Wings of Hope creations by the Whimsy Design Team....

Happy Friday to you! Hope you had a nice week! I've been very busy...we have some exciting things coming this weekend at Whimsy Stamps, so I've been getting ready. Be sure to stop by on Sunday at noon EST for our new release blog hop! And Crissy has been working on a very special project which I hope to have more information about on Saturday!
Today I have only one card to share for the new Just Magnolia challenge...I was a slacker and didn't get my Stamp Something card finished in time. Shame on me! The challenge this week at Stamp Something is Funny Somethings, so be sure to stop by the challenge site and join in!
For the challenge at Just Magnolia our very own talented Jay Jay has created a beautiful sketch, one that is very easy to use and will work with lots of different Magnolia images too!
I used this sweet summer image of Tilda picking a peach. I got her for Christmas this year from my friend Janna and I love her! She is a larger image and worked perfectly with Jay Jay's sketch. I've used some BasicGrey Origins papers and olive and chocolate card stock. The papers have been distressed and torn a bit. The image was colored with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen. I embellished with roses, buttons, and some ribbon.
This card also fits the challenges at:
Cute Daisy May: Flowers and Ribbon
Stamptacular Sunday: Friendship
Scrap, Stamp, and Doodle: Girly
Creative Inspirations: Distressing
Be sure to stop by Just Magnolia and Stamp Something this week and join in our challenges and to check out the Design Team samples, they are all gorgeous! Have a great Friday, happy stamping!

Hope you're day is off to a great start. My fingers are crossed for a fun play date today, we were suppose to have one on Monday but the snowy weather forced us to cancel. Then it snowed all day yesterday too, so we're hoping for some sunshine today! And, I'm really looking forward to the adult conversation too!
I created a card last night just for the sake of stamping. I feel like it's been a while since I got the chance to get inky and so I made a list of challenges and worked on a card. And this is what I came up with....
This is my Valentine Tilda with a funky twist. The papers are DCWV, I think! They were from a friend and I so very much appreciate that she shared them with me. They are all pretty and covered with glitter! The sketch is from Sketch Saturday and I embellished with flowers, black sticky gems, and white gel pen dots. Tilda was colored with Copics and then I paper pieced her dress to match one of the papers on the card.
This card also fits the challenges at:
Creative Card Crew - Punch It
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Lots of Layering
Paper Take Weekly - Pink
Magnolia Down Under - Valentine's Day
Thanks for dropping by today. I hope to back with another creation tomorrow. Until then, happy stamping! :)
And, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my little brother! One more year and he'll be 30!

Sadly, I have retired as a Layers of Color Designer. It was time for me to "pass the torch" on to someone new. I want to take a moment to thank Laura for allowing me the opportunity to design with her and the other talented gals for the last year and a half. I've loved my time with you Laura and I wish all you the very best in the future! Sending big hugs your way!
As this will be my last official DT post for Layers of Color, I wanted to share two cards that I created using a few of their newest stamp sets. Both of these cards are bold and fun and perfect for a feeling of warmth, which I think we all could use during these cold winter months!
This card uses the stamp sets Butterfly Collector and Flowering Gems. Both images where colored with Copics and then popped up to give some dimension to the card. The papers are BasicGrey and I've embellished with ribbon and sticky gems.
This next card is somewhat unique in that the background was created with shaving cream and reinkers. To do this, you need to put shaving cream on a paper plate, add on a few random drops of ink here and there in a few coordinating colors and then swirl the ink into the shaving cream with a popsicle stick or something similar. Then you place your paper down on the shaving cream mixture and press. Lift up and wipe the excess cream off and allow to dry. What you are left with is an almost tie-died effect for a design.
Once the background piece on this card was dry, I stamped on some flowers from the set Nature Walk and then some butterflies from the set Flutterescent. The sentiment was designed by my friend Ann and has been framed with circle Nestabilities. And the popped up butterfly was colored with Copics and glued on. I've embellished with Prima flowers, buttons, ribbon, hemp twine and a butterfly charm.
Thanks for dropping by today. Hope you have a great day! Happy Stamping! :)

Hope you had a nice weekend. It's snowing here now and we're suppose to get about 6 inches or so. It's actually a welcome site as lately it's been too cold for snow, so at least it's a bit warmer temp wise out there. And everything will be all nice and white and pretty tomorrow too!
I just wanted to make a quick post today to announce the two new Whimsy Guest Designers who will be joining us for February and March! They are...
We are thrilled to have both of these talented gals joining our team! And, we can't wait to see their Whimsy creations over the next couple of months! Welcome girls!
Hope you all have a great night, see you back here tomorrow and hopefully I'll have a card to share! Happy stamping! :)

Hope every one's weekend is off to a great start! It's about 40 degrees here today and it feels like a heat wave! Pathetic, I know...but it's been frigid here for weeks, so I'll take 40 any day although 70 or 80 would be much better! Hope it's nice where ever you are too!
I have some fun for you today! Since the holidays I've been reorganizing and cleaning up my craft room/work space. My hubby also repainted and moved all the furniture around for me to create a nicer place to work and create everyday. Which was a HUGE job, so I am grateful to him for doing that for me! This is the first time I've had a real place of my own to work in that functions well and doesn't require me to clean up after every project.
Now, I thought it might be fun for all of us to share our work/craft spaces! I'm always inspired by all the beautiful things you all create, so I'd love to see where it is that you do your magic! So whether big or small, grand or plain, please share with us the place that you create your masterpieces in!
While I was cleaning and reorganizing, I also put together a fun little blog candy pack of goodies! It's nice to purge myself of things I don't use in the hopes that I can share them with someone else who will.
Here's a picture of the prize....
This goody pack includes:
*an assortment of 6 x 6 My Minds Eye papers an assortment of Prima flowers and roses
*an assortment of buttons, brads, dew drops, wooden letters, paper flowers, gems, beads, and pins
*an assortment of charms and spacers
*a Stampin' Up! Embossing Stack
*a Stampin' Up! glue stick
*a pack of Cuttlebug Embossing/Die Sets
*Ribbon, some snowflake dies cuts, and a rub-on
*5 clear stamp sets including a "hand made by" set
This blog candy chance is open to anyone from anywhere! To enter for a chance to win this blog candy prize, please link your name and blog in the Mr. Linky below AND post my candy chance on your blog to help me spread the word! This prize chance will be open from now until noon EST on Saturday, January 23rd!
Everyone who enters and links my candy on their blog will be given one chance at the prize, but for an extra chance, take a picture of your craft space and post it on your blog to share with us!
Here is where I work and create....
I actually cleaned up for this picture. Normally it's quite messy, especially in my crafty area. And if you'll notice, I have a friend who likes to sit or should I say sleep with my while I work! The other side of the room is our kids playroom...now that was a mess when I took the picture, so I won't be sharing that!
Looking forward to seeing your crafty spaces! I do hope you will share! Good luck to everyone who enters the candy chance. I will announce the winner on Saturday afternoon next weekend. Have a great week!
Happy stamping! :)
Friday, January 15, 2010
Hope that everyone had a nice week and that you're looking forward to the weekend. We don't have anything planned this weekend, so I hope to get some time in the craft room!
Today I have my usual two card Friday post. The first is for this week's Stamp Something challenge. We have a color combo challenge for you this week...make something using Blue and White! Pretty easy right. Our sponsor this week is actually Whimsy Stamps and we are offering a $15 gift certificate to one lucky participant in the challenge.
I've used this sweet Very Present Helpers stamp from the Crissy Armstrong Collection at Whimsy Stamps. It's such a sweet image and I think it's perfect for birthday cards. I've colored with Copics and then used Stickles to glitter up the ribbon. My papers are My Minds Eye and paired with Blue Bayou CS from Stampin' Up!. I've used the ICS#49 sketch. I embellished with Prima flowers, roses, glitter, sticky pearls and a cake charm. The sentiment is a rub-on that I found in my stash. Sorry that the picture isn't the greatest, the lighting has been bad lately with all these gloomy winter days!
Next I have my Just Magnolia challenge card to share. This week our challenge is to make a Thank You card or other Thank You themed project using a Magnolia image. Our sponsor at Just Magnolia is also Whimsy Stamps with another $15 gift certificate. So two chances to win some Whimsy goodies this week!
I've used this adorable Tilda with a Tag and hand wrote the thanks sentiment, can you tell. LOL! She's been colored in pinks with Copics and highlighted with a gel pen. I went for a distressed look and used the sketch from Papertake Weekly for my layout. I used some BasicGrey Sultry papers with brown, pink, and rose red card stock. I've embellished with Prima flowers and pearl brads and some doodles. This card also fits the thank you challenge at Lili of the Valley.
Thanks for dropping on by today. I hope you'll pop on over to Stamp Something and Just Magnolia to see what my fellow DT members created this week and if you have some time, why not join us for the challenges too! Have a great weekend, happy stamping! :)
Thursday, January 14, 2010
Hope you're having a nice day. It's a bit warmer here than it's been in a while. Not that I want to head outside or anything but much nicer than the temps we've been having. Hope all is well where you are!
I made this card today and fit it to some challenges. I got this sweet Belles n' Whistles stamp from my friend Janna for Christmas and have been wanting to ink her up. She's adorable and reminds me of my own little one.
I've colored her with Copics and added a bit of highlighting with a white gel pen. She's been colored in pinks and grays to fit the challenge at Cute Card Thursday. I then used the sketch from Truly Scrumptious and the challenge of Shabby Chic at Simon Says Stamp to make the card. I've embellished with flowers and roses. And, because my image is new, this card also fits at Charisma Cardz to use anything new.
Thanks for dropping by today, back to work I go! Hope you have a fabulous afternoon. Happy Stamping! :)
Tuesday, January 12, 2010
Happy Tuesday to you! Hope you've had a great day. I've actually been cooking all afternoon and then decided to make a card too, so it's been a nice day.
This card is for no special reason, other than the joy of stamping! And it does fit some challenges too.
I went shopping with my oldest and dearest friend and stamping buddy Janna on Sunday and we got lots of great stuff! I got these pretty DCWV papers called Sweet. They are all glittery and pink and covered in fun! I love them. I've matched them with some SU! card stock in different shades of pink. The image is Francesca from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and she's been colored with Copics on my new Neenah Solar White card stock, which I have to say is awesome!
I've embellished this card with 3 flowers, some metal hardware, 3 buttons, ribbon and a sentiment from SU!'s set short and sweet. This card also fits the challenges at:
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps: heavy metal
A Spoon Full of Sugar: 3 papers, 3 flowers, 3 buttons, and one ribbon
Cupcake Craft: Going Girly
The Pink Elephant: Birthday Card
I'm off to eat dinner. Hope you have a great night! Happy stamping! :)
Monday, January 11, 2010
This is going to be a very quick post as it's late and I was suppose to have this posted this morning. It's been one of those Monday's here! Hope you had a good day!
Today, we posted out first weekly challenge over on our Whimsy Stamps group on SNR's Card Universe. The theme for the challenge this week is "Let it Snow" - to use faux snow or snow images in your creations. You can combine our challenge with others, but you must enter this challenge in our SNR group. There is a $10 Whimsy Gift Certificate up for grabs for one lucky participant in this week's challenge!
I've created two cards, one using N'ice Friends from the Crissy Armstrong Collection and the other using Whimsy Winter Raccoons from the Animals Collection.
I colored up my images with Copic markers and then added some snowy details with different glitters. Both cards were embellished with felt snowflakes, ribbon, and sticky pearls.
I hope you'll join in our challenge and share your snowy creations with us this week! Happy Stamping! :)
Friday, January 8, 2010

There is still time to join in the hop fun and enter for a chance to win the prize! The Whimsy hop closes tomorrow at noon EST.
Today I have two new cards to share, one for Just Magnolia and the other for Stamp Something. Both of these cards fits some other challenges too.
This week at Just Magnolia our DT member Mina created a really simple and fun tutorial for creating pleats with with your designer paper. This is our special January monthly challenge sponsored by Simon Says Stamp.
I went with some BasicGrey Eskimo Kisses paper and a brand new to me Tilda stamp.
I've colored with Copics and then added some stickles to the image for some glittery accents. The card has been distressed and embellished with sticky pearls, a flowers and a spacer, a chipboard heart, and some sequined ribbon.
This card also fits at:
BasicGrey Challenges: Pink, Cream, Blue color combo
Creative Card Crew: Distressing
ABC Challenges: L is for layering
Roses on Paper: Favorite Coloring Medium
We have a sketch challenge for you over at Stamp Something this week. It was one that I created to work with the fantastic stamps our sponsor Wags 'n Whiskers has generously given to our Design Team to work with for this challenge!
I chose to use this sweet "He Loves Me" image designed by Crissy Armstrong. I colored it with Copics, highlighted with stickles and then cut it out to fit my card. I've embellished this card with embossing, distressed edges, Prima flowers, stickles, and a ribbon with some charms.
This card also fits at:
Simon Says Stamp: Hot Chocolate
Charisma Cardz: Pink, Brown, Cream, Toffee
Cute Daisy May: Love
Thanks for stopping on by today! Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Be sure to check out the creations made by my fellow DT members at Stamp Something and Just Magnolia and if you have a chance, join in the challenges! Happy stamping! :)

I can't believe it's almost Friday already, this week is just flying on by! Hope it's been a good one for you.
I've had a bunch of things to do lately and not much time for crafting but I made a point to sneak some time in this morning between loads of laundry and work. I also wanted to join in some challenges, so this card was for that purpose too!
I started with the sketch from Sketch Saturday and paired that with some fun Lemonade papers from BasicGrey. I used a new to me Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp that my good friend and stamping buddy Erin gave me for Christmas. I just love these little mischievous girls! They are so fun! This is Drucilla!
I colored the image with Copics and paper pieced her dress and doll. Then I used an oval Nestabilities set to frame her. It was a little tricky to cut her out, but it worked. I also went a little crazy with some glimmer mist and glittered up with image. I embellished with flowers, a button, sticky gems and pearls, ribbon and some white gel pen doodles.
This card also fits the challenges at:
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge: Paper Piecing
Cute Card Thursday: All New (use new stash)
One Stop Craft: Begins with B - (blue and button)
Thanks for dropping by today. I'll see you all tomorrow with new projects for Stamp Something and Just Magnolia! Have a great afternoon. Happy Stamping! :)

Hope you're having a good week. I've been busy cleaning up the house and taking care of some business, but today I decided to take a break to make a card. We had our new Carousel Horse release on Sunday at Whimsy Stamps and so I was just itching to use the other stamp set to make a card.
I started this card by inking up this new Untamed Love image by Crissy Armstrong. It's she beautiful! I love her! I've colored with copics and highlighted with a bit of white gel pen accents. Then for the card, I used some pink and brown card stock with a piece of BasicGrey paper. I distressed the edge of the paper and added some faux stitching to the brown layers. The circle frame was cut with circle Nestabilities and then I embossed with the swirls folder and sprayed it with glimmer mist. I finished off with some ribbon and sticky pearl accents.
This card fits the challenges at:
Cute Daisy May: Love
A Spoon Full of Sugar: use heart (the image has hearts)
Creative Card Crew: Distressing
Everybody Art Challenge: Favorite Color Combo (this is just one of many)
Thanks for dropping by today...back to work I go! Have a super afternoon! Happy stamping! :)

Hello and Welcome to the Whimsy Stamps new release blog hop "Come Take a Ride with Us,"
If you are joining me from Bev's blog, then you are in the right place. If you are just stumbling on our hop now, you will want to go back to the beginning of the hop over at Crissy's blog. Each of our design team members have created beautiful and enchanting eye candy to share with you today and there is also a blog candy prize chance over on the Whimsy Stamps page. We hope you enjoy "Taking this Ride with Us" today!
We are so very excited to finally be able to share these beautiful Carousel Horses stamp sets, which were designed by Crissy Armstrong, for the Crissy Armstrong Collection at Whimsy Stamps! Each horse was lovingly created with beautiful details to represent a special occasion. Today we are releasing two of these beauties, Untamed Love and Cool Ride, but we have plans to add to this collection in the coming months!
Each of the Carousel Horse Stamps is sold as a stamp set with one main image horse and 2 coordinating accessories. These accessories are great for creating backgrounds or for adding an extra detail here and there on your creations. This is Cool Ride, who I think perfectly represents Winter with all those snowy details and that pretty coat with the fluffy edging.
I've created an easel card for my project so that I could squeeze in as many details as I could and to use all the stamps in this set. These easel style cards are great for showcasing your creations too, they really do stand up well. The only draw back for me is that I can't get a good photograph of them to save my life! LOL!
I've gone with a blue and green color combination and used some glittery My Minds Eye papers. All of the edges have been distressed with scissors to create some texture and I've added glimmer mist to the whole card to give it some more shimmer. The base of the card uses both of the new accessories and a sentiment from the set Winter Words, also available at Whimsy Stamps.
Here is the close up of the front of the card.
As you can see the papers have been distressed and torn to add some texture. I also embellished with lots of glitter and a felt snowflake and acetate and glitter snowflake held on with a rhinestone brad. The image was colored with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen and silver Spica glitter pen.

I have a busy day of cleaning and organizing, but I wanted to share a card before I get to any of that. My hubby is painting my craftroom/office for me and then I will get in there and reorganize. I just might have some blog candy soon...depending on what I find while cleaning! LOL! So stay tuned for that later this week!
This card is one I made for DT work with Layers of Color. I actually created it some time ago, but this is the first chance I've had to share it. This card uses the stamp set Flutterescent, which was released this past Autumn and an older set Nature Walk.
I went for a monochromatic blue and cream color palette with a vintage feel. I created my own decorative papers using the stamps to create the backgrounds. I also used two Stampin' Up! background stamps over the Layers of Color images. I've embellished with brads, ribbon, and a flower. I wanted to keep the focus on the images, so I keep this card clean and simple.
Thanks for dropping by today! Hope you have a super Saturday. See you back here tomorrow for our Whimsy Stamps new release blog hop! Happy Stamping! :)

Hope you had a wonderful holiday season, I can't quite believe it's all over. This time of year seems to go by in a blink! I hope everyone has a fantastic 2010 with great happiness and lots of crafty goodness!
Today we have a new challenge over at Stamp Something and in honor of the new year, we want to see you use some new goodies. The challenge is "New Somethings" and you can create anything you wish as long as you use something new in your creation. Our sponsor this week is KLM Digital Stamps and we have 6 new design team members starting with us today too!
For my card, I've used this sweet Valentine's Bear available at KLM Digi Stamps. I've colored him with Copics, one is a new color I got for Christmas, R81 Rose Pink. I also used some new papers on this card. One of my papers was stamped with a new image, a little sneak peek at one of the new releases on January 3rd, from Whimsy Stamps. The sketch is from the challenge at The Pink Elephant. I've embellished with faux stitching and white gel pen dots, dew drops, ribbon, and Prima flowers. The sentiment is from SU!'s Short and Sweet set.
Thanks for dropping by today, I hope you have a great weekend. Be sure to stop back on Sunday for the Whimsy Stamps new release blog hop! You won't want to miss out on the eye candy from the DT or some chances to win prizes! Plus, the new stamps, designed by Crissy Armstrong, are gorgeous! You can see a sneak peek now over on the Whimsy home page! Hope to see you Sunday!
Happy Stamping! :)
